This is the second book in the series of Adventures on Trains called Kidnap on California Comet. The first book is the HIGHLAND FALCON THIEF which was an outstanding book. I’m very excited about the next book. I can’t remember the name at the moment but if it’s like this one it’s going to be a good one!

Summary

Now let’s get on with the summary. Hal, the main character, is going on the California Comet with his Uncle Nat but a billionaire daughter goes missing. Hal, my favorite character, has to find her before it’s too late!! I like that they saw a lot of kids on the train and that most of them help solve the mystery.

Thoughts on Kidnap on California Comet

I like this book, Kidnap on California Comet, and it’s about trains which is always a win for me. I do wish that it was on a steam engine because they are my favorite type of engine, but this is a diesel type. At least the first book was on a steam engine and the third one is going to be too…YAY! I like that it is in America because it is where I live! I would love to go on this train…without the kidnapper and stuff haha!

This story takes place at the station and while the train is chugging down the tracks. The station in Chicago, which is where the story starts, is very awesome. I would love to go to the station and Chicago itself. I like that it goes through so many states like Ohio and Colorado. I have been to Ohio and loved it. I got to see a lot of trains so obviously I loved it! And I have also been to Colorado I love the trip the mountains looked like Gordon’s Hill! (from Thomas and friends) I think it is funny that it’s on an Amtrak locomotive (well I think it’s Amtrak or sounds like it) because Amtrak has some awesome trains. I wish that the book was in color not black and white because then we could see some cool, colorful pictures.

Overall, it is a good book and I am excited for the next one. As I said, I wish the illustrations were colored as Amtrak has good colors. At least there are more pros than cons. So, I give this book 9/10.

That’s all from me for now! I’ll be back with more soon!
