The Highland Falcon Thief is the first book in the Adventures on Trains book series by MG Leonard and Sam Sedgman. There is two main character in this book, Hal and Lenny. The book takes place on a train, it’s a royal steam train, an A4. The train is taking it’s last trip.
Hal the main character didn’t like trains, which I didn’t know was possible. Lenny was the opposite and loved trains I think as much as me. If it wasn’t against the law I would be a stowaway like Lenny. They meet several type of people including a movie star.
The book is a mystery-style book since theft of a necklace happens on the train. The daughter of royalty necklace got stolen and they are trying to find it before the train makes its last stop.
There are several travelers and staff they have to question to see who stole the necklace. It was a fun mystery trying to watch them solve it and who actually stole the necklace.
Overall, this was an outstanding book with mystery adventure and best of all trains. This book is great for all ages but perfect for train lovers (foamers) and 10 to 14 year olds. Can’t wait to read the next in the series, California Comet, review available here.
